{"id":25039,"date":"2020-09-10T16:17:50","date_gmt":"2020-09-10T10:47:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.syscreations.ca\/?p=25039"},"modified":"2021-06-03T09:28:56","modified_gmt":"2021-06-03T09:28:56","slug":"black-entrepreneurship-program","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.syscreations.ca\/blog\/black-entrepreneurship-program\/","title":{"rendered":"Canada Reveals $221 Million Black Entrepreneurship Program: How Can Entrepreneurs Maximize Benefits?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\"><span style=\"color:#7b68ee\" class=\"has-inline-color\">The colour-coded labour market is dangerous to individuals, a country and entire humanity!<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">But unfortunately, that\u2019s exactly what is happening in Canada.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\"><span style=\"color:#7b68ee\" class=\"has-inline-color\">According to Statistics Canada, almost 17 out of 100 black Canadians are unemployed which is nearly double than the white Canadians.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">However, many new initiatives and opportunities have emerged for black entrepreneurs in recent months due to protests against systemic racism in the USA and Canada.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"color:#7b68ee\" class=\"has-inline-color\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">On 9th September 2020, the Canadian federal government announced Black Entrepreneurship Program <strong>worth $291 million<\/strong>.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"color:#7b68ee\" class=\"has-inline-color\">This funding consists of about $33 million in federal support, a $130 million commitment from BDC, and a $128 million joint commitment from RBC, BMO, Scotiabank, CIBC, National Bank, TD Bank<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">It is the three-part initiative aiming to support black Canadian entrepreneurs.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<center>\n\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\"><p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Black business owners and entrepreneurs face unique challenges accessing the financial tools and mentorship they need to succeed &#8211; and we\u2019re taking action to change that. Today at <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/HXOUSE?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@HXOUSE<\/a>, we\u2019re launching Canada\u2019s first-ever Black Entrepreneurship Program. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/Uq7H0kWP35\">pic.twitter.com\/Uq7H0kWP35<\/a><\/p><p>\u2014 Justin Trudeau (@JustinTrudeau) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JustinTrudeau\/status\/1303787089536966657?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">September 9, 2020<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<\/center>\n\n\n\n<h1><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: x-large;\"><b>What does Black Entrepreneurship Program include?<\/b><\/span><\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Canada government funding for startups is what all entrepreneurs are looking for.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">Though Black Entrepreneurs Program only targets black entrepreneurs, this government-funded program depicts the efforts the federal government is putting to boost the startup ecosystem.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">The black entrepreneurship program includes,<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\"><strong>$53 million<\/strong> for building a new National Ecosystem Fund to support businesses led by black entrepreneurs.<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\"><strong>$33 million<\/strong> for the new Black Entrepreneurship Loan Fund. Business owners and entrepreneurs can get loans of between $25,000 and $250,000.<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">The federal government also announced a partnership with multiple financial institutions such as BMO, RBC, Scotiabank, CIBC, National Bank, TD, Vancity, and Alterna Savings to add up <strong>$128 million<\/strong> in additional lending support.<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\"><strong>$6.5 million<\/strong> to create a Black Entrepreneurship Knowledge Hub.
