Read MoreIn 2020, Manitobans see the doctors the same way it was performed 50 years ago! Manitoba experiences one of the worst winter times in Canada. This makes it difficult for people living in remote or small towns of Manitoba to travel for healthcare. Manitoba also has the highest wait time for an emergency room in Canada. Patients wait almost 16 hours in the standing room only. We created a game-changing telemedicine software solution that lets patients talk to an online doctor and get prescribed within minutes, without stepping out of the home.

Manitoba is a very large province. There are many small and remote towns in Manitoba with no easy access to healthcare services. Hospital wait time in large cities of Manitoba such as Winnipeg does not help residents of remote cities in any way. A telemedicine app that lets patients talk to doctors within minutes is a very convenient way of seeking healthcare services for people living in small remote towns. In hospitals, it reduces patient footprints and frees up overburdened healthcare workers.
The government-funded Manitoba Health, Seniors and Active Living Plan sometimes known as MHSIP is available in Manitoba. Unlike Ontario and B.C., it does not cover televisits. However, it is anticipated that the government will soon bring televisits under it. (Our telemedicine solution can easily be customized to support Manitoba Health, Seniors and Active Living Plan-covered televisits.)
If you are a public entity such as a hospital, FIPPA does apply to you. And if you are a private entity, the Personal Information Protection Act applies to you.
There is one more healthcare-specific law called The Personal Health Information Act (PHIA) which applies to all healthcare providers.
The operating cost includes app maintenance, APIs fees, customer service, ongoing marketing and staffing cost.
You can ask users to pay per visit with an additional fee for follow-ups.
You can ask them to pay a bit more for televisits after midnight, on weekends and on national holidays.
You can also introduce a subscription or membership plan for regular users.
You can also tie up with employers to provide televisit coverage to their employees.
With your custom branding, we will deliver the app before the deadline. If you ask for extra features, we will take a few more days to implement custom changes in the app and test it before delivering it.
That’s the major drawback of PHIA. It only asks entities to safeguard PHI but does not suggest the ways to safeguard PHI. Thus, it is up to you if you want to encrypt the PHI. But you must secure the PHI of patients anyhow and there is no better way than encryption.
PHIA does not ask you to have a signed contract between you and IT service providers.
Telemedicine is the subset of telehealth. Unlike telemedicine which is only used to provide online healthcare services, telehealth also includes many non-clinical uses.
We offer you several options to suit your needs and budget. If you want an affordable solution, we own the code. But we also offer you the flexibility to enjoy code ownership at extra code.
