Nunavut has a population of just around 40000. However, they are living in small towns which are very remote and do not have good road connectivity with each other. There are also just 3 healthcare facilities in the entire province. Weather also remains very extreme for at least 5-7 months in a year to travel to the nearest hospital. A telemedicine app enables residents of Nunavut to talk to a doctor within 2 minutes from the comfort of their homes.

• You can ask users to pay per visit with an additional fee for follow-ups.
• You can ask them to pay a bit more for televisits after midnight, on weekends and on national holidays. 
• You can also introduce a subscription or membership plan for regular users. 
• You can also tie-up with employers to provide televisit coverage to their employees.

The government-funded NHCP is available in Nunavut. Unlike Ontario and B.C., it does not cover televisits. However, it is anticipated that the government will soon bring televisits under it. (Our telemedicine solution can easily be customized to support NHCP-covered televisits.)

If you are a public entity such as a hospital, ATIPP does apply to you. And if you are a healthcare organization - even the private one - Public Health Act does apply to you. It is not a dedicated law imposed to govern the data in the healthcare industry. However, it asks healthcare providers to secure the personal information of patients. Many requirements of the Public Health Act related to patient data security have been derived from ATIPP.

The operating cost includes app maintenance, APIs fees, customer service, ongoing marketing and staffing cost.

With your custom branding, we will deliver the app within a week. If you ask for extra features, we will take a few more days to implement custom changes in the app and test it before delivering it.

That’s the major drawback of ATIPP. It only asks entities to safeguard PHI but does not suggest the ways to safeguard PHI.  Thus, it is up to you if you want to encrypt the PHI. But you must secure the PHI of patients anyhow and there is no better way than encryption.

ATIPP does not ask you to have a signed contract between you and IT service providers.

Telemedicine is the subset of telehealth. Unlike telemedicine which is only used to provide online healthcare services, telehealth also includes many non-clinical uses.
