After Quebec at around 25.6 percent, Saskatchewan at 18.7 percent has the second-highest proportion of residents who are without a regular doctor. As an upshot, not all residents in Saskatchewan get the quality care at their desired time. A telemedicine app allows doctors to treat more patients in a given time without being physically available to patients. This adds up time for doctors which they can utilize to provide quality care to all remaining patients.

• You can ask users to pay per visit with an additional fee for follow-ups.
• You can ask them to pay a bit more for televisits after midnight, on weekends and on national holidays. 
• You can also introduce a subscription or membership plan for regular users. 
• You can also tie-up with employers to provide televisit coverage to their employees.

The government-funded SK HealthCard is available in Saskatchewan. Unlike Ontario and B.C., it does not cover televisits. However, it is anticipated that the government will soon bring televisits under it. (Our telemedicine solution can easily be customized to support SK HealthCard-covered televisits.) 

If you are a public entity such as a hospital, FOIP does apply to you. And if you are a healthcare organization - even the private one - HIPA does apply to you. HIPA is a major law dedicatedly imposed to govern the data in the healthcare industry.

The operating cost includes app maintenance, APIs fees, customer service, ongoing marketing and staffing cost.

That’s the major drawback of HIPA. It only asks entities to safeguard PHI but does not suggest the ways to safeguard PHI.  Thus, it is up to you if you want to encrypt the PHI. But you must secure the PHI of patients anyhow and there is no better way than encryption.

HIPA does not ask you to have a signed contract between you and IT service providers.
